Temporary bus stop
Part of the Dornbachstraße one-way
The Dornbachstraße will be one-way, travelling northwards, between Im Heidegraben and the Fischbachstraße to allow for the bus stops to be modernised. The buses will, however, continue to travel in both directions and will be stopping at temporary bus stops in front of the houses with numbers 39 and 42.
Bus stop vandalised
A bus stop in the Dornbachstraße was vandalised at 2am in the early hours of New Years Day. A stone was thrown against the glass panel, causing several hundred Euros of damaged. The person who threw the stone then ran off. Police in Oberursel are asking witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.
Am Rahmtor closed for three weeks
The bus stop “Am Rahmtor” is being re-developed to allow for step-free access to the buses in Oberursel, and to allow for the work to take place the road is closed at the junction with the Füllerstraße for the next three weeks.
This means that it is not possible to exit the top end of the market square onto the main roads.
Access to Altkönigstraße 1 and to the Grundschule Mitte is only possible via the Eppsteiner Straße.
Long-term roadworks in the Altkönigstraße
Monday, 7th August, 2017 sees the start of roadworks in the Altkönigstraße that are set to last until the end of March 2018.
The first stage will see the footpath on the southern side of the road being re-surfaced between houses 60 and 68 and the bus stop being re-built to make level access to the buses.
Then the footpath will be re-surfaced up to the Rotbornstraße.
In the third stage the footpath and the parking bays on the northern side of the road between the Clara-Schumann-Straße and Steinmühlenweg will be done, followed by the footpath and bus stop near the Steinmühlenweg and Altkönigstraße number 73.
The final stage will see the road itself being re-surfaced.
The first four stages will see the road reduced to a single carriageway with traffic lights in operation. The road will need to be closed completely for part of the re-surfacing work in the finale stage.
Local residents should be able to access their drives at most times. The cost of the project is being paid for in part by a grant from the regional government (Land Hessen), and will in total cost €730,000.
Bus stop in Oberhöchstadter Straße
The start of the school holidays on 27th July, 2015, also sees the start of work on the bus stop at the Rushmoorpark to make it more accessible.
With the project being financially supported by Land Hessen, the existing bus bay on the Feldbergschule side will be extended and fitted out with tactile elements. The stop on the other side for travellers heading out of town will have a new bus shelter erected. The work will also renew and improve the passenger protection system making it disabled friendly.
The work is set to take six weeks and cost around €140,000.
Diversion
Traffic travelling out of town will pass through a single lane through the roadworks, heading into town there will be a diversion along An der Heide, then Königsteiner Straße, and finally Füllerstraße.
Buses
Buses on routes 41, 252 and 261 will use the same diversion. They will not stop at “Feldbergschule” when travelling into town.
Travelling out of town they will stop there, but the bus stop will be moved several metres further out from the town centre on the corner of the “Kronberger Straße”.
