Jazz meets Gospel at the Hessentag

The evening features Christoph Schönherr with “Magnificat”, Robert Ray with “Gospel Mass” and the Choir “Tontauben” from Oberursel-Weißkirchen conducted by Mark Opeskin.

The Church “Liebfrauenkirche” is located in the Berliner Straße, half way between the U-Bahn stations “Altstadt” and “Stadtmitte”.

Roy Hammer & die Pralinées at the Hessentag

Musical notes - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / vlastasRoy Hammer & die Pralinées will be appearing at the Hessentag in Oberursel on Friday, 10th June, 2011, and with them as the warm-up act will be the Garden Projekt Band.

The concert takes place at the Platz der Bundeswehr which is at the area called An den Drei Hasen.  This means that car park P1 is closest, or the U-Bahn station “Stadtmitte”.

Doors open at 6pm, with the warm-up band starting at 7pm.  Entry is free.

Just White – the white concert at the Hessentag

Music and Dance - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / james2000One of the most discussed concerts at the Hessentag in Oberursel at the moment is “Just White” which is a joint concert between the radio stations Hit Radio FFH and Planet Radio on Saturday, 11th June.

Amonst the acts performing are Frida Gold, Medina and Die Atzen, but it has been the rumour that Jedward – the twins that appeared for Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf – will also make an appearance that has been talked about so much online.  Now both radio stations have confirmed them on their websites.

With DJ Mosey also taking part (aka Pierre Sarkozy) the evening is sure to be popular.

“Just White” is taking place int he Hessentagsarena, located next to the U-Bahn station in Bommersheim and Car Park P2.

Doors open at 8pm with the concert starting at 9.30pm and ending at 2am.  Entry is free, but you must be wearing something white!

YOU FM Clubnight at the Hessentag

Music and Dance - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / james2000Local radio station YOU FM is holding a “Clubnight” during the Hessentag in Oberursel on Saturday, 18th June with DJs Pascal Feos and Karotte playing House, TechHouse and Electro music.

Doors open at 8.30pm, entry is free and the clubnight finishes at 5am!

The YOU FM Clubnight is in the Festzelt at An den Drei Hasen, next to car park P1.

Straight Bourbon – Rhythm ‘n’ Blues at the Hessentag

They will be performing at the Polizei-Bistro at the Hessentag in Oberursel on Sunday, 19th June at 8pm, and have confirmed to us on Twitter that they will be performing in English.

The stage is located at the corner of the Oberhöchstädterstraße and Korfstraße, near the police station.  The nearest U-Bahn stations are “Stadtmitte” and “Oberursel Bahnhof”.

Primary Schools in Oberursel

Mortar board - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / jgroupThe primary schools in Oberursel (Grundschule) will be presenting themselves during the Hessentag on Thursday, 16th June, between 10am and 1pm on the Raiffeisenbank stage at the Marktplatz.

The market square, or Marktplatz is located on the Hessentagsstraße in the central area of the town.  The nearest U-Bahn station is “Oberursel Altstadt”.

Storys & Worship – Live on Tour

Musical notes - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / vlastasA charity open-air concert called “Storys & Worship” is being held at the Hohemark Clinic in Oberursel on Monday, 13th June, 2011 at 7pm.

Starring Arne Kopfermann, Someday Jacob and Sara Lorenz, the concert is free to attend, but donations are requested.  The donations will be used to fund a container which will be used to transport a carpenter’s workshop to Rwanda.

To get there by road, leave the A661/B455 at the “Oberursel-Hohemark” exist and follow the signs to the clinic.  There is a car park at the clinic itself, however this is not free.

Using the U-Bahn, take the U3 to the end of the line “Hohemark”, from where it is a short walk.

Please note that in the event of bad weather, the concert will be cancelled, and guests should wear suitable clothing as the seating is not covered.

Route 66 at the Hessentag

Musical notes - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / snehitdesignThe band “Route 66” will be playing hits from the 1960s and 1970s at the Hessentag in Oberursel on Sunday, 12th June between 8.30pm and 11pm, and on Monday, 13th June between 11am and 1pm.

Both appearances will be at the Taunus-Bühne which is located in the Adenauerallee, approximately half way between the station and the pedestrian precinct.

 

Scorpions at the Hessentag

The concert is being held at the Hessentagsarena (Frankfurter Landstraße) to which the nearest U-Bahn station is “Bommersheim”.

Bryan Adams at the Hessentag
