Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 22nd January, 2013, we are told that it will be a “family drama”. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
The showing starts at 9pm.
A 3,000 step walk for senior citizens is being organised in Stierstadt bei Hedi Madl on Tuesday, 22nd January 2013.
To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.
“Finn und der Drache” (Finn and the Dragon) by Irene Wellershoff and Jan Birck is being read in the library on Saturday, 19th January, 2013 at 11am by volunteer Susanne Hermann.
Tickets cost €3 and should be reserved in advance in the library or by calling 06171 62870.
The musikhalle portstrasse is holding a “Friday night Jam Session” on Friday, 18th January, 2013 at 8pm.
Entry is free.
The “musikhalle” is located opposite the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” on the U3 line.
The town of Oberursel and local transport company VGF (Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt) who run the U-Bahn line “U3” that passes through the town are holding an information evening in the town hall on Tuesday, 15th January, 2013 at 7.30pm.
During the evening there will be a chance to ask questions and also put forward suggestions and complaints about the service on the line, which is often a topic of discussion in the town’s internet forum.
Anyone interested is invited to attend the evening and it hoped that the numbers will be sufficient to add weight to any points put forward.
The monthly flea market in the Adenauerallee in Oberursel will take place on Saturday, 19th January, 2013 between 7am and 1pm.
The flea market starts at the end of the pedestrian zone and continues the length of the Adenauerallee and over the railway lines towards Bommersheim. One part also takes place in the Nassauer Straße next to the U-Bahn tracks.
To get there by train take either the line U3 or S5 to Oberursel’s main station.
The Verbraucherzentrale (consumers’ association) will be offering individual energy saving consultations in the Rathaus in Oberursel on Thursday, 17th January, 2013.
Appointments cost €5 for 30 minutes, and €2.50 for each 15 minutes after that. They need to be arranged in advance by calling 06171 502-310.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering a 3,000 step walk on Wednesday, 16th January, 2013.
To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.
