Children’s cinema in the Portstrasse

Cinema Reel - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / AnatolyMThe bluebox portstrasse will be showing a film for children aged 8 and over on Friday, 12th January, 2018 at 3pm.  As it is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

Entry costs €2 per child, with free entry for one accompanying adult.

The bluebox is located opposite the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” (formerly “Portstraße”).

 

Donate Blood

Blood - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / iqonceptBlood can be donated at the Red Cross in Oberursel on Friday, 12th January 2018 between 3.30pm and 8pm. The Red Cross is located at Marxstraße 28, opposite the U-Bahn station “Lahnstraße”.

To donate you must be healthy and between 18 and 68 years of age. If you have not donated before, then you must not be over 60. You must take some form of identification with you, such as a passport, that contains a photo.

Moped driver fatally injured on road from Bad Homburg

A 53-year-old man from Oberursel was fatally injured on his way from Bad Homburg to Oberursel on Wednesday evening (3rd January, 2018).
According to police, he was travelling along the L3006 road at 6.45pm between the junctions with the Zeppelinstraße and the A661, when he was hit by a VW bus driven by a 35-year-old woman from Schmitten. As a result of the collision he was knocked to the ground and was taken to hospital, where he died later the same evening.
The driver from Schmitten, who also had three children in the vehicle, was unhurt. An expert was called to the scene of the accident, to try and find out what happened. Whilst this was going on the road was closed towards Oberursel and the fire brigade from Bad Homburg provided lighting to assist. They also cleaned the carriageway.

Bingo at the Seniorentreff

Anyone who is interested is invited to come along and try their luck!

Women’s-Only Swimming at the TaunaBad

The Taunabad in Oberusel will be open on Sunday, 7th January and Sunday, 21st January, 2018, between 8am and 10am exclusively for women, young girls and children up to 10 years of age.

Car scratched on TaunaBad car park

The driver’s door of a blue VW Golf parked on the TaunaBad car park was scratched on Wednesday, 3rd January, 2018 at some time between 9.30am and 4.15pm, while the 19-year-old owner was inside the swimming pool.

Police in Oberursel are asking witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.

House in Camp King broken into

A terraced house in George-C.-Marshall-Ring was broken into on Tuesday night (2nd January, 2018), when thieves used the opportunity of the occupents being out.
According to police they removed the grill from a light well and broke in through a basement window, thereby gaining access to the house. The damage is estimated at several hundred Euros, but it is not yet clear what was taken.
Detectives in Bad Homburg would like to hear from witnesses or anyone with information on 06172 1200.

The showing starts at 9pm.

3,000 step walk for senior citizens in Stierstadt

To take part, be at the bus stop “Altes Rathaus” in Stierstadt at 3pm.
