There will be a book flea market in Oberursel’s library on Saturday, 6th October, 2018, between 10am and 1pm with proceeds going to the library’s supporters’ association.
The library is located at one end of the market square in Oberursel, in the Eppsteinerstraße.
The nearest car parks are “Bleiche” and in the Holzweg. The nearest train station is Altstadt (U3).
A tour of the old town (Altstadt) part of Oberursel is being offered on Saturday, 6th October 2018 at 2pm.
The tour starts in front of the Vortaunusmuseum at the Marktplatz at 2pm and costs €3 per person.
The Seniorentreff in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9) will be holding a breakfast buffet on Friday, 5th October 2018 between 9am and 10.30am, with food and drink costing €6 per person.
To take part, register in advance by calling 06171 585333 and leave a message on the answerphone if necessary.
The tower of St.Ursula’s Church in Oberursel will be open to the public on Saturday, 6th October 2018 between 3pm and 5pm.
The tower contains a museum, the belfry and there is also access to the roof where you can get a breathtaking view across the town and its neighbours.
Entry costs €1.50 for adults and €1.00 for children.
The bluebox portstrasse will be showing a film for children aged 8 and over on Friday, 5th October, 2018 at 2.30pm. As it is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.
Entry costs €2 per child, with free entry for one accompanying adult.
The bluebox is located opposite the U-Bahn station “Altstadt” (formerly “Portstraße”).
Tuesday night is film night at Bluebox Portstraße, located near the U-Bahn stop “Altstadt”.
As the organisation is not a commercial cinema, they are not allowed to advertise which film will be shown in advance. For Tuesday, 2nd October, 2018, we are told that it will be a German Debut. If you do want to know which film will be shown then call 06171 636930 and they will tell you.

The Maislabyrinth – a maze made out of maize – will be holding a Pumkin Festival with pumkin carving for children on Sunday, 30th September, 2018.
The maze itself is open from 11am until 7pm. Entry costs €3.00 for adults, €2.50 for children aged 10 to 16 and €2.00 for children aged 4 to 9.
To get there by car, travel to the edge of Weißkirchen on the road to Steinbach. There is a track off the road near the yellow “Oberursel Stadtteil Weißkirchen” sign leading towards Frankfurt (ie. left if you have just driving through Weißkirchen, right if you are coming from Steinbach). The maze is about 200m along this track.
If you are coming by train, the nearest station “Weißkirchen-Steinbach” is on the S5 line between Frankfurt and Bad Homburg.

The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be holding a Stammtisch on Friday, 16th November, 2018 between 5pm and 8.30pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
The Stammtisch is a place to discuss anything and everything that those attending wish to.
A charge of €8 per person will be made to cover the cost of food and drink and due to the limited number of places reservation by telephone (06171 585333) is requested.
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering an afternoon of Bingo on Thursday, 27th September 2018 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm in the “Altes Hospital” (Hospitalstraße 9).
Anyone who is interested is invited to come along and try their luck!
The Seniorentreff in Oberursel will be offering a 3,000 step walk on Wednesday, 26th September 2018.
To take part, be at the Christuskirche in the Oberhöchstädter Straße at 3pm.
