The new “Äppelparkbrunnen” in Oberstedten has been vandalised, just days before that part of the town was set to celebrate it’s 1,200th anniversary.

Police report that a number of bicycles have been stolen in Oberursel in recent days.
At the weekend, two valuable bicycles worth over €2,000 were stolen from the Oberhöchstadter Straße. It appears that the thieves broke into a garage where the bicycles had been locked up.
Then on Monday, 10th July, 2017, a witness observed a number of youths as they stole a valuable e-book from the Hans-Thoma-School at 7.45pm. The witness said that there were four people involved, and all of them wore dark clothing.
In both cases police are asking anyone with information to call them on 06171 62400.
Allotments in the Ebertstraße in Oberursel were broken into sometime between 10pm on Wednesday and 10am on Thursday, 6th July, 2017.
According to police, five sheds were broken into and over a thousand Euros of damage caused by white paint that the thieves sprayed.
It is not yet clear how much was stolen.

Thieve attempted to steal two valuable mountain bikes that were attached to the roof of a car in the Berliner Straße on Sunday, 2nd July, 2017 sometime between midnight an 10am.
The roof-rack carrying the bikes had a locking mechanism which the thieves were unable to open, but they caused about 500 Euros of damage to the car by scratching it in the attempt.
Police in Oberursel ask anyone who saw anything to call them on 06171 62400.
Detectives in Bad Homburg have caught a man who they believe is responsible for 25 break-ins in Oberursel in the past six months.
The 27-year-old who lives in the town is accused of earning a living through the break-ins. He is believed to be responsible for, amongst others, the Volkshochschule (October), Primary School “Mitte” (October), the library, (December), the Kindergarten “Waldzwerge” (December and February), Brauhaus Oberursel (December, January, February), the Kindergarten “Regenbogenland” (March), the Kindergarten “St.Ursula” (January and February), as well as a number of other shops, restaurants and clubhouses.
The suspect has told police that he carried out the crimes alone, but the investigation is ongoing.
The tyres of a black Renault Espace parked on a private parking space in the Wintersteinstraße were slashed sometime between 7pm on Saturday, 22nd October, 2016 and 7.30am on Sunday morning. The damage is estimated at €500.
Police are asking for witnesses to contact them on 06171 62400.
At least seven cars were damaged in one night in Stierstadt recently, and local police are asking for anyone who saw anything suspicious to come forward.
The cars were all parked in the Eichenstraße in Stierstadt on the night of the 29th/30th of March (2016), and all damaged by deep scratches in the paintwork. The total damage is estimated to be around €10,000.

A mixing desk “Pioneer DJM-350 DJ-Mixer 650” was stolen from a marquee during an A-Level party at the “Stierstädter Heide” on Wednesday, 23rd March, 2016 – sometime between 9pm and 11.30pm. It is worth around €650. Any information that could help police should be given by calling 06171 62400.
On the night of the 22nd March, 2016, a BMW in the Wiesenaustraße, a Ford Galaxy in the “Kleine Schmieh” and a Mercedes E-Class were either broken into or an attempt was made.
In each case those responsible forced one of the side windows in an attempt to cause them to shatter.
Nothing was stolen from the vehicles, but the damage is estimated at €2,000.
Thieves used access to a neighbouring property in the road “Freiheit” in order to take articles from a garden shed, sometime between 7.30pm on Friday 18th March and 10.30am on Saturday, 19th March, 2016.
From the unlocked shed they stole a chain saw and a leaf blower. Witnesses are asked to call the local police station.
