Bicycle stolen

Two bicycles worth around €1,800 have been stolen from a garage at the northern end of Oberursel.

The bicycles were taken in the Friedländerstraße some time between 9.30am on Wednesday, 2nd August, 2017 and 7.25am the following day.

One was a children’s bicycle, the other was a “Cube” mountain bike.

Police would like witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.

Police arrest man at bicycle stand

Police in Oberursel have arrested a man for allegedly trying to steal a bicycle.

They were called by a passer by on Thursday, 3rd August, 2017 at 9.45pm, who had seen a man doing something to a number of bikes at the station.  The police were able to find the 41-year-old man from Oberursel whilst he was still there and took him away for questioning.  He has since been released.

Yet another bicycle stolen in Oberstedten

Yet another bicycle was stolen in Oberstedten, this time between 8pm on Tuesday, 1st August and 9.10am on Wednesday, 2nd August, 2017.

The “Cube” mountain bike was locked up on private property in the Lärchenweg.

Another bicycle stolen in Oberstedten

A black “Merida” mountain bike was stolen sometime between 9.30am and 4pm from the Häuserstraße in Oberstedten on Monday, 31st July, 2017.

The bicycle, work several hundred Euros, was locked up on private property.

Again, police would like witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.

 

Bicylces stolen from shed in Bommersheim

Four bicycles worth several thousand Euros were stolen from a garden shed in the Bruchwiesenstraße in Bommersheim sometime between 7.30pm on Saturday, 15th July and 2.54am on Sunday, 16th July, 2o17.

According to police in Oberursel the thieves managed to by-pass the lock on the shed and they would like witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.

E-Bikes stolen from garden

Three thieves gained access a property in the Münzenburgstraße in Gonzenheim on Saturday, 15th July, 2017 at 3.20am.  Although a property was protected by a gate, the key to the gate was in the lock.

Once inside, they removed a white E-Bike and a blue and white mountain bike.  Although the E-Bike had a lock, neither of the bicycles was locked up.

The owner of the property heard the noises and made the thieves aware of his presence, after which they left with the bicycles but left two other bicycles behind in the process that are now with Oberursel’s police.

The stolen bicycles are worth about €2,800 together.

A number of bicycles stolen

Police report that a number of bicycles have been stolen in Oberursel in recent days.

At the weekend, two valuable bicycles worth over €2,000 were stolen from the Oberhöchstadter Straße.  It appears that the thieves broke into a garage where the bicycles had been locked up.

Then on Monday, 10th July, 2017, a witness observed a number of youths as they stole a valuable e-book from the Hans-Thoma-School at 7.45pm.  The witness said that there were four people involved, and all of them wore dark clothing.

In both cases police are asking anyone with information to call them on 06171 62400.

Police looking for exhibitionist

Detectives in Bad Homburg are trying to trace a man who was seen completely naked around 5.35pm on Sunday, 27th July, 2014, in the area at the end of the Freiligrathstraße.  Apparently, the same man was also spotted in the area at the beginning of May.

He is described as around 40 years old, 1.80m tall, with a very light skin colour and well built with a muscular stomach.  It is suspected that he had a bicycle with him that had saddlebags on it.  Anyone who can shed some light on the matter is asked to call Bad Homburg police on 06172 1200.

Suspected bicycle thief caught

A 23-year-old was arrested in Oberursel on Sunday afternoon (17th August, 2014) on suspicion of stealing a bicycle.

A witness saw how someone cut through the lock on a valuable mountain bike at the station with a pair of wire cutters, but having been spotted they then fled before actually taking the bicycle.

The suspect was spotted by police in the Homburger Landstraße and on searching the rucksack that he was carrying the officers found a large wire cutter, a small pair of pliers and a small amount of Cannabis.

Stadtradeln – cycling for the climate

As in previous years, Oberursel is taking part in the annual “Stadtradeln” campaign to get as many members of the public to leave their cars behind and use a bicycle instead.

Between 2nd and 22nd June, 2014, teams in the town will be trying to ride as many kilometres as possible, at the same time trying to beat the 2013 total of 44.641km.

One local politician and Green Party member, Peter Matthäy, has gone a step further and handed over the keys to his car for the next three weeks, ensuring that it is his bicycle that takes him everywhere during that time.
