Car mirrors damaged in the Altkönigstraße

Police report that two cars parked in the Altkönigstraße on Monday, 17th July, 2017, had their mirrors damaged.  One Mercedes and one Audi were affected, leaving €700 of damage.  Witnesses are asked to call 06171 62400.

Cars windows damaged

On the night of the 22nd March, 2016, a BMW in the Wiesenaustraße, a Ford Galaxy in the “Kleine Schmieh” and a Mercedes E-Class were either broken into or an attempt was made.

In each case those responsible forced one of the side windows in an attempt to cause them to shatter.

Nothing was stolen from the vehicles, but the damage is estimated at €2,000.

Car in Oberstedten damaged

A black Mercedes Vito was damaged in Oberstedten on Saturday/Sunday night (26th/27th December, 2015).

According to police the vehicle was parked in the entrance to a yard, where it was scratched using some form of tool.

The damage is estimated at €1,500.

Parked cars damaged in the Frankfurter Landstraße

A 74-year-old man from Frankfurt was travelling with his wife in a Mercedes car along the Frankfurter Landstraße on Saturday, 16th August, 2014 at around 9.35am.

At some point he blacked out, swerving to the left and hitting three parked cars.  Although no-one was hurt, the damaged caused amounted to around €32,500.  The Mercedes had to be towed away.

Crash caused €11,000 damage on New Year’s Day

A 52-year-old man from Frankfurt and a 28-year-old man from Bad Homburg were driving along the L3006 (Urseler Straße) towards Oberursel on 1st January, 2014, at around 2.35pm.

As the traffic lights on the junction to the A661 motorway turned from green to amber, both put on their brakes, but the 28-year-old who was in the car behind the 52-year-old realised that he had braked too late and swerved to avoid a collision.

In doing so, his Mercedes drove over a road sign and hit the pole which carries the traffic lights.

Although no-one was hurt and the car from Frankfurt was undamaged, around €11,000 of damage was caused.

More Sat Navs stolen in Oberstedten

A number of cars were broken into in Oberstedten on the night of the 18th/19th November, 2013, and according to police the targets seem to have been the satellite navigation devices.

The cars were located in the Grenzstraße (BMW and Mercedes), Bussardweg (BMW), Dornholzhäuser Straße (BMW) and Lindenbergweg (BMW).  Almost all of the cars had had their rear triangular window smashed.

Other cars in that night suffering the same fate were parked in the Kastanienweg and Oberhöchstadter Straße.

The total damage is estimated at €25,000.

Satnav Systems stolen

A number of cars where broken into in Oberstedten on the night of 2nd/3rd November, 2013, apparently with the intention of stealing satellite navigation systems.

The cars include: a BMW in the Bussardweg, another in the Goldgrubenstraße, two more in the Edith-Stein-Weg, another one in the Buchenweg, and both a BMW and a Mercedes in the Bergweg.

The thieves opened the cars either by cracking the locks or breaking one of the side windows.  The total damage is estimated at around €30,000.

Cars in Oberstedten broken into

On the night between the 8th and 9th of October, 2013, at least 5 cars were broken into in Oberstedten with the intention of stealing the satellite navigation systems.

The cars – BMW and Mercedes – were parked in the Bussardweg, Fichtenstraße and Buchenweg.  Two of the cars had their locks picked, the others had side windows smashed.  The total damage is estimated at €15,000.

Several people injured in shunt at traffic lights

An accident at the corner of the Frankfurter Landstraße and Ludwig-Erhard-Straße last Thursday afternoon (22nd August, 2013) left several people injured.

After several cars had already stopped at a set of traffic lights, an 82-year-old man was approaching the queue in a Mercedes car when his foot slid off the brake pedal, causing the car to hit the Peugeot in front of him.

This was shunted onto a Renault Twingo, which in turn hin an Opel Vectra.

The drivers of the Mecedes, Renault, Opel and a passenger in the Renault were slightly injured.

The total damage is estimated at €13,000.

Witnesses sought after damage to car in the Mauerfeldstraße

The front passenger door of a silver coloured Mercedes A-Class was damaged on Wednesday, 21st August, 2013 sometime between 1.30pm and 7pm whilst it was parked on a customer car park in the Mauerfeldstraße.

The damage is estimated at €1,000, but the person who caused it drove off without leaving their details.
