Another theft from the swimming pool building site

Last weekend tools valued at €10,000 Euro were stolen from the swimming pool building site.

The tools, including welding tools, were stored in a container which the thieves entered by cutting open the wall.

Several doors and windows were broken open as well, causing a further €3,500 of damage.

Pensioner oversaw U-Bahn

A 86-year-old cyclist was travelling along the Freiligrathstraße from the Feldbergstraße towards the Herzbergstraße and had to cross the U-Bahn tracks.  At this point there is a pedestrian crossing which according to police was showing red.

Apparently the man did not notice the U-Bahn which was passing at the time and hit the side of the last carriage.  He was slightly injured and 50 Euro of damage was caused to the bicycle.

The line was closed for 35 minutes during which time a replacement service was set up.

Open manhole led to accident

Persons as yet unknown opened a manhole cover in the Feldbergstraße in the early hours of Saturday morning, causing an obstruction in the road.

A 28-year-old man from Friedrichsdorf in an Audi hit the obstruction, causing damage to the vehicle.  Witnesses who are able to help identify those responsible are asked to call Oberursel’s police station on 06171 62400.

Changes to the U-Bahn route (U3) at the weekend

Due to works on the line the U3 will be running along a different route this coming weekend.

On both Saturday, 15th June and Sunday, 16th June, 2013, the line will start as usual at Oberursel-Hohemark and continue towards Frankfurt.  After the “Wiesenau” stop, however, it will divert onto the U9 line and terminate at Römerstadt.

From there, buses will take passengers to Hügelstraße, where the shuttle service will be in operation to the Südbahnhof.

The alternatives are to change trains in Römerstadt to the U9 and continue to Ginnheim, and change there to tram line 16, or to take the S-Bahn S5 from Oberursel to Frankfurt.
