Two accidents occured in the Homburger Landstraße on Thursday, 10th October, 2013.
The first was a at around 8am when a driver in the Lessingstraße wanted to turn left into the Homburger Landstraße in a Chrysler Jeep and overlooked a Daimler CLK coming from the right which had right-of-way. The cars collided and the Jeep was shunted onto a Chrevrolet whilst the Daimler hit a Ford Mondeo.
The drivers of the Jeep, Daimler and Mondeo, along with a 15-year-old passenger in the Daimler were slightly hurt. The road was closed for 1½ hours causing delays during the rush hour at around €12,750 of damage.
Around 10am a similar accident occured when the driver of an Opel Corsa went to turn out of the Geschwister-Scholl-Straße into the Homburger Landstraße and collided with a VW Lupo which had right-of-way. The Lupo then hit a VW Golf on the other side of the road. The damage to the cars is esitmated at €4,500.
An accident occurred at the corner of “Im Heidegraben” and “Dornbachstraße” on Thursday, 10th October, 2013.
A 39-year-old driving a VW Touran entered the crossing along the Dornbachstraße towards the Lahnstraße, although the traffic lights were set to red. He collided with a lorry coming from the right which had a green light. The force of the collision pushed the car against a garden wall with the damage estimated at €11,000. Both the lorry driver and his passenger were injured and taken to hospital.
A 71-year-old from Frankfurt was driving along the Königsteiner Straße (K772) from the B455 heading towards Oberursel in her VW Golf on Sunday, 22nd September, 2013, when for some unknown reason she came off the road at the “Heidekrug” and headed into the ditch.
Here she collided with a statue on a sandstone plinth known as the “Signorino Cross”. The force of the collision caused considerable damage to the cross and parts of the plinth hit a nearby parked car.
Both cars were damaged so much, that neither were able to be driven after the accident and the damage is estimated at €30,000.
The driver of the VW Golf was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital in Bad Homburg for treatment. The fire brigade were called to deal with petrol which was leaking from her car.
A 46-year-old cyclist from Dietzenbach was hurt on the Nassauer Straße on Saturday, 21st September, 2013.
She had been travelling along the Homburger Landstraße, but when she came to the Nassauer Straße she decided to ride on the pavement which is not allowed at this point.
However, as she tried to ride up the curb she fell onto the road into the path of a VW car.
The damage to the car and the bicycle is estimated to be only €200, but the cyclist was injured and taken to the hospital in Bad Homburg for further checks.
A lorry was waiting for the traffic lights to turn green in order to turn from the Füllerstraße into the Oberhöchstadter Straße on Friday, 20th September, 2013 at around 8am, when a car turned left from the Oberhöchstadter Straße into the Füllerstraße, scraping the side of the lorry.
The car drove off and police are now looking for witnesses who should call them on 06171 62400. The damage to the lorry is estimated at €200.
Health problems were apparently the cause of an accident that took place on the Hohemarkstraße on Tuesday, 10th September, 2013 at 5pm.
The driver of a BMW X5 lost control of their vehicle on the section of the road near the Kupferhammerweg where the U-Bahn tracks cross it, hitting the pole of the traffic lights which caused the entire traffic light array to stop working.
The driver was slightly injured, police and railway staff controlled the traffic until a replacement set of lights could be installed. The damage is estimated at around €20,000.
An accident occured in the roadworks on the B456 on Tuesday, 17th September 2013 at 11.25pm when a car travelling from Oberursel towards Bad Homburg crossed onto the other side of the road into the oncoming traffic.
The 29-year-old driver of a Scirocco was forced swerve to avoid a collision and came to a standstill at the exist to Oberstedten. The 18-year-old driver of an Insignia behind him was also able to stop, but the car behild – also a Scirocco, driven by a 19-year-old – was unable to do so in time and hit the Insignia from behind.
The car that had initially caused the accident carried on its way to Bad Homburg without stopping. The damage is estimated at around €11,000.
A cyclist involved in an accident on the Füllerstraße is looking for witnesses to an accident in order to help police find the person responsible.
The accident took place on Tuesday, 18th June, 2013 at 6pm, when the driver of a white A5 changed lanes, forcing the cyclist to stop abruptly and fall.
The cyclist had to be taken to hospital where he spent almost two weeks recovering.
Despite another driver who saw the accident sounding their horn and trying to make the Audi driver aware of what had happened, they drove off leaving the cyclist behind.

The road “An der Waldlust” is closed from the junction with Hans-Rother-Steg due to a burst water main.
Access to the main cemetery by car is only possible via a diversion which runs along the Hohemarkstraße, Alfred-Lechler-Straße and through the woods on the Altkönigstraße.
Buses are not able to reach the cemetery at present.
The work to repair the water main and re-open the road is expected to be completed by 2nd October, 2013.
