Witness sought after theft at station

Police are looking for a witness to a theft that took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at Oberursel’s main station.

Between 5.20am and 5.45am on 13th July, 2014, a 20-year-old had his wallet stolen out of his pocket after he fell asleep on a bench.  The two men also tried to take his mobile phone as well, but were disturbed when the S-Bahn entered the station and the man woke up.

During the theft the men were observed by a witness, who thought at first that they were friends with the man on the bench, and it was only after they went separate ways that she realised that she was wrong and told the man he had been robbed.

Detectives in Bad Homburg would like to talk to her and ask that she calls 06172 1200 to contact them.

Witnesses sought for attack in Adenauerpark

Police in Oberursel are asking witnesses to come forward after an attack in the Adenauerpark about a month ago at 4am on Friday, 26th July, 2013.

An argument in the park led to one person being so badly injured, that they were taken to Bad Homburg hospital where they underwent an emergency operation.

Since then police questioning has revealed that those responsible can be described as follows:

1. male, around 20 years old, approximately 1.85m tall, of athletic appearance (approx. 90kg), with short black hair and unshaven.  He was wearing a black t-shirt with a white pattern on it and said he was from Pakistan.

2. male, around 20 years old, approximately 2m tall, well-built, clean-shaven, with a mole on one cheek.  He had short, dark blond or brown hair and wore a white or light blue t-shirt and blue trousers.

Witnesses so far have said the men were accompanied by two women who were not involved in the argument.

Car scratched – police looking for witnesses

Early on Thursday morning (20th June, 2013), a car parked in “Am Hang” was scratched by a passing cyclist or motorcyclist.  As yet police are unsure what caused the scratch exactly, but around €2,000 of damage was caused to the car.

Whoever is responsible left the scene without notifying the owner of the car and police in Oberursel are asking witnesses to call them on 06171 62400.

Witness spots potential vandals at swimming pool

An observant member of the public reported two men to police who were behaving strangely within the grounds of the swimming pool in Oberursel last Saturday evening (6th April, 2013).

Both of the men had rucksacks with them and as police approached them, they fled.  The police officers were, however, able to catch up with one of them them and on searching the 17-year-old’s rucksack they found graffiti spray cans and alcohol.

A search of the grounds then found evidence of an attempted break-in on one of the doors, along with a metal bar which police presume to have been used in the attempt.

The teenager was arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

 

Witnesses sought for possible arson attack

Police in Bad Homburg are asking witnesses to came forward after investigations into a fire in Oberursel on 21st December 2012 revealed that it was probably started deliberately.

The fire started at 2.10pm on that afternoon in the Dornbachstraße.  The investigation into the fire found out that the fire was probably caused by a group of youths, one of whom through a lit firework onto the balcony of the flat concerned.

According to one witnesses that have already been spoken to the group was made up of 4 or 5 youths, probably of German origin, 13 to 15 years old and between 150 and 160cm tall.  One of them was a girl with blond hair and wearing a dark jacket and light coloured jeans.  One of the boys was older and taller than the rest, with dark coloured hair and wearing a turquoise or light blue jacked and dark trousers.

The group fled via the Usastraße and it is suspected that they live near the Dornbachcenter and often hang around there.

The fire caused €60,000 of damage.

Witness sought after near traffic accident

A police carPolice in Oberursel are asking a witness to come forward, who may be able to help in the case of a endangering traffic and verbal assault last week.

On Tuesday, 1st November, at around 5.10pm a driver ignored the right of way  of another car at the junction of the Homburger Landstraße and Lange Straße.  The driver of a Skoda was able to brake in time to avoid an accident, but at the same time a child who was using the pedestrian crossing at the point in the road was caught up in the situation.

The female driver of a large, red vehicle who had stopped at the crossing may be able to help police with their enquiries and is asked to call 06171 62400.

Bicycle shop broken into

A bicycle shop in the Holzweg was broken into in the early hours of last Monday morning when someone broke the shop window with a hammer and stole the mountain bike that was at the front of the display.

A witness approached the thief who then proceeded to ride towards the witness.  The two collided, the witness being hurting their arm.  The thief then left the bicycle behind and ran off in the direction of the old town.

He is described as slim, of Mediterranean appearance, around 16 to 18 years old and approximately 1.65m tall. He was wearing a black jumper with back tracksuit trousers.

Tyres dumped in the Käsbachtal – witnesses sought

Both police and the town of Oberursel are looking for the person or persons who dumped around 120 old tyres in an area of woods known as the “Käsbachtal”, just outside the town towards Stierstadt.

Dumping the tyres there is illegal and if caught the culprit will face a fine under environmental law.  They will also face the cost of disposing of the tyres, estimated at around 600 Euro, which will otherwise have to be met by the taxpayer.

Anyone who was in the area on Tuesday, 4th September, 2012 beween 8am and 12.30pm and saw anything – in particular any vehicles in the woods – is asked to call the police station in Bad Homburg on 06172 120-0.

Witnesses sought after mugging in Weißkirchen

Detectives in Bad Homburg are looking for anyone who witnessed an attack in Weißkirchen on Saturday evening.

A 52 year old man was returning home from work in Frankfurt when he was attacked and robbed by three men.

The men are described as being approximately 1.80m tall, masked and wearing dark clothes.  The police report that they hit their victim before giving him an electric shock, after which they proceeded to hit and kick him.

After they had taken the cash that he was carrying they ran off.

Anyone who saw the attack or was near the U-Bahn station in Weißkirchen at around 10.45pm is asked to call the police in Bad Homburg (Kripo) on 06172 1200.

Witnesses sought after Frankfurter Landstraße blocked

A German Policeman - ©Can Stock Photo Inc. / totalpicsPolice in Oberursel are looking for whoever is responsible for putting an un-lit “Warnbarke” – a sign usually used to block off a road for roadworks – in the middle of the Frankfurter Landstraße in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The driving of a car travelling from Niederursel towards Oberursel noticed the sign too late, causing damage to the car of around 2,000 Euro.

Those responsible will probably be charged with “dangerous intervention in road traffic”, and the police are asking anyone with information on who put the sign there to call them on 06171 62400.
